What is the National Youth Scholarship Program?
[Download the NYSP Manual and the NYSP Application.]
Are you looking for a scholarship? If so, the J. Robert Ashcroft National Youth Scholarship Program (NYSP) may be what youre looking for.
Each year the Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education and Youth Departments of the General Council of the Assemblies of God sponsor this prestigious scholarship, which gives financial assistance to outstanding high school seniors attending Assemblies of God churches.
Up to three district level winners can be nominated by their district for the National Youth Scholarship. The NYSP Committee then picks three national winners based on four important criteria: academic achievement, extracurricular activities, Christian service, and Christian character.
The scholarship, which is granted for the first year of college, is given to winners who will be attending one of the 19 endorsed Assemblies of God colleges the fall immediately following their high school graduation.
Winners will receive the scholarship money as follows: First Place, $5,000 ($2,500 awarded per semester for two semesters); Second Place, $3,000 ($1,500 awarded per semester for two semesters); Third Place, $1,000 ($500 awarded per semester for two semesters). Read about this year's winners.
If you are interested in the J. Robert Ashcroft National Youth Scholarship Program, applications are available from District Youth Directors after November and are accepted from January 1st to March 31st each year at the District Youth Directors offices.
