Make a list of priorities for your college experience

• Location
• Academic and degree offerings
• Dorms and housing
• Recreational activities, events

Prayerfully consider the college of your choice; learn more about your favorite colleges from your sources

• College students and alumni
• College web site and social media pages
• College fairs and promotional material

Spring

Narrow your college choices

Visit colleges you have selected

• Tour of the campus
• Attend chapel
• Eat in the cafeteria
• Meet professors
• Spend the night in the residence halls

Take the ACT/SAT. Refer to your guidance counselor for help in taking the test

Senior

Summer Beforehand

Begin your scholarship search (start here!)

Type a rough draft of your admissions and scholarship essays to include with applications

Fall

Submit applications to the colleges you have chosen

Complete any scholarship or financial aid forms in addition to interviews/audition dates

Consider retaking the ACT/SAT if you think you can improve your score

Spring

Make your final college decision, if at all possible

Complete the FAFSA

Fill out your housing/roommate application. You'll probably need to put down a deposit

Based on the financial package from your top schools, determine college and living expenses

College

Summer Beforehand

Ask the college admissions counselor if you can register early for your classes

Plan your arrival based on campus opening
