Evangel is where I became who I am today. It is where I learned how to persevere, where I learned how to learn and where I learned how to interact with people who are not like me." - Isaac Olivarez, ordained Assemblies of God minister and founder and director of Urban Outreach Denver

The professors at Evangel prepared me very well for my career. They were very hands-on, and I felt like I had a personal connection with each one. The reputation that the Education department has is very good, and my employers knew that if I was coming from Evangel, I was very well taught and would be prepared." - Jennifer Perryman, physical education teacher, head girls golf coach, and assistant girls basketball coach for Nixa High School, Nixa, Missouri

The main reason I came to Evangel was to play football. But I soon realized that Evangel was the right fit for me, whether I played football or not. I love the atmosphere it creates with the combination of Christian values and academics." - Tommy Meyer, government major and running back for the Crusader football team, three-time HAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Boldy Christian. Unquestionably Academic. These four words sum up what Evangel is all about. As the national university of arts, sciences and professions of the Assemblies of God, Evangel's focus is to train young people for leadership positions in business, government, church and home.

Today, more than 24,000 alumni are serving around the world, including such prominent graduates as Dr. George O. Wood, general superintendent of the Assemblies of God; acclaimed singer/songwriter Sara Groves; N.Y. Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis; renowned cardio thoracic surgeon and artificial heart pioneer Dr. James Long; The Honorable Sam Der-Yeghiayan, Federal Judge, Chicago, Ill.; and Kevin Compton, owner of The San Jose Sharks (NHL).

The university recently completed an extensive campus development program, with nine major construction projects since 1997, including two three-story academic buildings, a student fitness center, the massive Barnett Fine Arts Center and the new administration building, Riggs Hall. Evangel is a residential university, drawing more than 2,100 students from all 50 states and many foreign countries.
