AGTS Faculty News for November 2001
President Byron Klaus presented a paper entitled "Pentecostal Leadership
for the Long Haul" at the Trinity Bible College Inaugural Ministry
Symposium, September 25, which will appear in the Spring 2002 issue
of Enrichment. In addition, he spoke at the Lay Leadership Summit
sponsored by the Northern California/Nevada District in Sacramento,
California, on October 12. Several of his works have been recently
published including 4 entries in the Evangelical Dictionary of
Christian Education published by Baker Book House and an entry
in College Faith: 150 Presidents Speak on Their Journeys of Faith,
published by Andrews University Press.
Dr. Ben Aker addressed the Chaplains Seminar on June 12, 2001,
on the topic "Renewing the Christian Minister." This address will
soon be posted on Dr. Aker's webpage located on the AGTS website.
Dr. Mark Bradford attended a conference on "Clinical Supervision
Skills in Behavioral Health," August 16, 2001, in Columbia, Missouri.
Also in August, he received the APA Certificate in the Treatment
of Alcohol and other Substance Abuse Disorders. This is the highest
certificate available and endorsed by the APA for substance abuse
treatment providers. In July Dr. Bradford was inducted into the
National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology. He is
also a new member of the National Association of Sex Educators and
Therapists.
Dr. Roger Cotton presented the first in a series of Bible and Theology
Departmental Lectureships on September 25, 2001. His topic was "Numbers
11 and Doing a Pentecostal, Biblical Theology of Church Leadership."
Dr. Gary B. McGee wrote a chapter entitled "Assemblies of God Missions:
Strategy on the Run" in the book entitled Working Together With
God To Shape the New Millennium: Opportunities & Limitations,
edited by Gary Corwin and Kenneth B. Mulholland.
