Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Relations/Journalism (Full Time)


Job Description: Reports to: Communication Department Chair in College of Communications, Languages, and the Arts. It is a full-time ten-month position beginning August of 2014. Salary is commensurate with experience and degree held at the time of appointment. Primary duties would include teaching Public Relations courses, advising the campus public relations club, serving on committees as assigned by the department chair, and advising. Possible courses to be taught by the candidate filling this position include Corporate Public Relations, Writing for Mass Media, Introduction to Mass Communication, & Media Ethics. The Communication Department offers the B.A and B.S. in Journalism/Public Relations, Theatre, Broadcasting, Graphic Design, Media Ministry, Communication and B.S. in Film Studies. For more information visit: Southeastern University is a Christian liberal arts university affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Required Education Level: Doctorate


Job Qualifications & Requirements: Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred in Public Relations, Communication (with emphasis in Public Relations), or related field. Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree considered. Successful experience as a college instructor and the ability to work well with others. Candidates should have a personal commitment to teach in a Christian University in the Pentecostal tradition and be in agreement with the mission of the University. Ability to teach Public Relations and Communication courses.
