Originally starting in 2008, the Student Leaders’ Conference began with the purpose of cultivateing and growing the student leaders of the Assemblies of God endorsed colleges. Leaders meet in Springfield for a weekend to be equipped, empowered, and encouraged. The event resembles the AG Faculty Conference in that we provide interactive sessions, complimentary meals and time for catching up with others. However, our sessions focus on challenges that students are currently facing, including sociological and administrative hurdles.
We're hoping to reach even more student leaders this year, and our expectations for the coming Student Leaders' Conference are always better than the last. The SLC was a hard one to beat, with several speakers who spoke on life lessons that our students have still not forgotten! As more plans are solidified, we will update our readers on this year's SLC.
Student leaders from across the country came to our annual conference to unite ideas and befriend students who share common interests and goals. They started off with a grand buffet dinner and time with our General Superintendent the first night. The next morning, students toured AGTS and the AG National Leadership and Resource Center to learn about our day-to-day operations. Finishing off the night, students received a taste of the Ozarks at the Dixie Stampede show in Branson. The final day, teachers Dave Moore and Melody Palm offered sessions on effective leadership.
