Each year, the Assemblies of God Executive Leadership and the Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education host a three-day conference for faculty members and administrators from the 16 AG colleges and universities. This conference provides faculty and administrators with the opportunity to network with colleagues from other AG schools, exchange ideas specific to their academic disciplines and highlight current topics in higher education. Disciplines from all of the colleges and universities are included on a three-year rotating schedule.
This year's AG Faculty conference promises to be an incredible one! With sessions on everything from integrating faith into academics to harnessing creativity for learner engagement, faculty have a lot to look forward to upon arriving. Our main speaker will remain a surprise for now, but he's well-known among our AG colleges' faculty!
Our conference on June 26 – 28 included faculty from the following departments/disiciplines:
The main speaker, Dr. Leonard Sweet, a reknowned Christian author, spoke to AG Faculty about the changes in culture and education, and he drew from research in his book, "Viral". As technology and social media advance, Sweet demonstrated that we must advance with it, including the using new teaching methods within the classroom. Optional sessions were provided to faculty throughout the three days to encompass their interests and further their knowledge outside of their regular areas of teaching.
