Bethany's President Rossi To Step Down

Dr. Maximo Rossi Jr., president of Bethany (AG) University in Scotts Valley, California, since 2003, recently declined to allow his name to stand for a second five-year term as president. Rossi has shared with the Bethany Board of Trustees that he desires to transition his ministry to evangelism, preaching and teaching. His last day as president at Bethany will be August 31, 2008.

“Having served as Bethany University’s 14th president has been the greatest honor of my life,” stated Rossi. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served our constituency and the Kingdom.”

At the present time, the Bethany Board is considering the naming of an interim president to serve while a search committee for a permanent president is formed. A special day of prayer has been scheduled on campus for Tuesday, June 17.

Dr. G. Robert Cook, the executive vice president of the Alliance for AG Higher Education, commented, “Dr. Max Rossi served Bethany University and the Assemblies of God well during his tenure as Bethany’s president. Significant advancements in academic programs, funding of capital campaigns and scholarship endowments were just part of all that Dr. Rossi accomplished during his time there. He was well loved by students and faculty. We are deeply thankful for Max and Olympia’s strong contribution to the Bethany family!”
