American Indian College in Phoenix is marking its 50th year of "equipping Native Americans for Christian service, emphasizing biblical truths and academic excellence within a Christian community" during the 2007-08 academic year.
Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, AIC is a regional college of the General Council of the Assemblies of God. It is sponsored by nine districts and Assemblies of God U.S. Missions.
Following the pattern of the biblical Year of Jubilee in Leviticus 25:10-13, a time of liberation and erasing of debts, AIC has set as its goal to "declare all student and school debt as clear, free of charge, erased and nonexistent."
"We believe this is ordained of God," says AIC President James V. Comer, "and are stepping out in faith to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor for AIC."
