Rev. Nick Alfaro has been appointed as Global University’s new Director of Hispanic Ministries. An ordained Assemblies of God minister, Alfaro and his wife, Laura (Global University’s Director of Recruitment & Retention), have ministered with the Assemblies of God in various roles over the past 20 years, including senior pastor positions and at the Assemblies of God National Leadership and Resource Center (NLRC).
Most recently, Alfaro served as the Lead Spanish Sales representative for My Healthy Church through the NLRC. Before his transition to Springfield, MO to serve at the NLRC, Alfaro was the senior pastor of El Buen Pastor A/D Church (The Good Shepherd Church) in Ennis, TX, and also represented the Assemblies of God Gulf Latin District as the Light for the Lost Coordinator, raising funds to equip and empower missionaries to take the gospel message to unreached people groups around the world.
"Global University is committed to partnering with our fellow Hispanic sisters and brothers to equip and empower them for ministry”, reflects Dr. Gary Seevers, Global University President. “Hispanic churches are rapidly expanding across the US, and it was our desire to provide a key individual that would be able to make connections in order to better serve this constituency in terms of providing training for leaders and church planters. Nick brings a wealth of experience in working within the Spanish community, and he will be able to assist in equipping and training these Hispanic pastors using print and online resources. He will be a valuable asset to Global University, and we are excited to welcome him into our GU family.”
Alfaro’s focus as he enters into this position is to connect the ever-growing network of Hispanic pastors and leaders with the tools that Global University offers to enhance their ministries and to empower them to make further advances into their local communities for Christ.
Alfaro states, “I am convinced that the key to Global University’s continued success will be to effectively connect to and resource the Hispanic population with the tools necessary to disciple their people, win the lost to Christ, and further advance their knowledge of the Bible. I am thrilled to further build upon Global University’s relationships within the increasing network of Hispanic districts.”
