Novus International awards $17,000 STEM grant to Missouri Colleges Fund

EUnousEvangel University is one of 16 private liberal arts colleges and universities in Missouri that will benefit from a $17,000 STEM grant recently provided by Novus International to underwrite math and science need-based scholarships.

 

In addition to this grant, Novus will also host the Annual Science Day at their headquarters in O’Fallon for Novus and STEM scholarship recipients.

 

“Evangel University is grateful to be among the recipients of this generous gift to higher education,” said President Robert H. Spence, president-elect and CEO of Evangel University. “Many students would not be able to attend college without the assistance of scholarships, and we are indebted to Novus International for providing resources to educate the workforce of tomorrow.”

 

The mission of MCF is to acquire resources to help educate students in member private liberal arts colleges and universities.

 

MCF member schools are independent baccalaureate degree-granting liberal arts and comprehensive colleges and universities in the state of Missouri.  Their income is derived primarily from private sources.

 

MCF member schools include: Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia;  Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Hannibal LaGrange University, Hannibal; Lindenwood University, St. Charles; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Rockhurst University, Kansas City; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.

 

Evangel is a national, Christian university of arts, sciences and professions located in Springfield, Mo., drawing more than 2,500 students from all 50 states and abroad. Evangel offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs and 10 master’s programs.

 

MCF was incorporated in 1952 as a partnership of private enterprise and member independent colleges and universities. The Fund is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation; therefore, all contributions to the Fund are tax-deductible up to the limits prescribed by the law.
