SAGU hosts START event, Oct. 1-3

ChurchSouthwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) will host the START Event on October 1-3, 2013, highlighting the challenge and opportunity of planting new, healthy churches. Special chapel speakers include Dr. Leonard Sweet, Rich Wilkerson, and Dr. Earl Creps.

Tuesday, October 1 (Sheaffer Center Auditorium):

 

  • 9:30 a.m. - Dr. Leonard Sweet
  • 10:50 a.m. - "Super Session," Dr. Leonard Sweet or Dr. Earl Creps
  • 7 p.m. – SAGU alumna and North Texas church planter Jennifer McAfee

 

 

Wednesday, October 2 (Sheaffer Center Auditorium):

Dr. Leonard Sweet is the author of more than 200 articles, more than 1,300 published sermons, and more than 50 books including "Soul Tsunami," "Aqua Church," and "Jesus Manifesto." He currently serves as the E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Drew University and a visiting distinguished professor at George Fox University.

 

Dr. Earl Creps is the pastor of 360church in Berkeley, California, and a visiting professor of Leadership and Spiritual Renewal at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Dr. Creps is a specialist on missional Christianity, postmodernism, communication and leadership.

 

He served as adult ministries consultant for The General Council of the AG and has been a member of various General Council committees. He is the author of "Off-Road Disciplines: Spiritual Adventures of Missional Leaders (Jossey-Bass Leadership Network Series)" and "Reverse Mentoring."
