The Alliance for AG Higher Education gave "distinguished" awards to four faculty and two administrators serving at our schools at the Alliance awards luncheon, taking place during Assemblies of God General Council.
Also honored were the 23 faculty and administrators who have served for two decades or more in their positions. The distinguished awardees are voted on by members of their respective college board, and each awardee came forward to share a few highlights of working in higher education and thank their colleagues.
Anderson has served as president since 1995, and for 14 years prior to his presidential role, he worked as a faculty member at NCU. For three years as a professor, Anderson also served on special assignment with AG Foreign Missions (1992-1995).
From 1974 until 2013, Crawford has faithfully served Evangel University in his administrative role as a vice president.
Since 2004, Bartel has served as SAGU’s Dean in the College of Bible and Church Ministries. He has also worked in other leadership roles including Chair, Division of Church Ministries (1993-1996), and Dean of Students (1990-1992).
Cargnel has taught in the Special Education and Graduate Studies program at EU since 1985. She was also VP for Student Development for six years (1992-1998).
For over 20 years (1990-present), Hernando has taught New Testament at AGTS. He gained experience from Trinity Bible College, where he worked as an Instructor (1978-1986) and Chairman (1980-1986) in Biblical Studies.
Nelson currently serves NCU as Dean of College of Arts & Sciences (since 2011) and Director of School of Social & Behavioral Sciences (since 1998). He began his tenure at NCU as a professor in 1989.
