Victory Media has named Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) a "Military Friendly School." The Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
"Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools shows SAGU's commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students," says Sean Collins, director for G.I. jobs and vice president at Victory Media. "As interest in education grows we're thrilled to provide the military community with transparent, world-class resources to assist in their search for schools."
For veterans and current service men and women, SAGU offers free counseling, academic assistance and accommodations at the learning center, free gym membership, and waives the application fee.
Additionally, SAGU encourages student and staff veteran networking.
Vice President of Enrollment and Retention Eddie Davis shared, "Our veterans are some of our most elite students. We appreciate their leadership and influence on our campus. And, I hope this program will encourage more to enroll at SAGU in the coming years."
"I consider myself blessed to be able to facilitate educational benefits at SAGU. Providing quality service is just one small way I can serve those who have so selflessly served us," shares SAGU Veteran Affairs Coordinator Shaun Eide.
