Dr. Martin Mittelstadt published in inaugural issue of Canadian Journal of Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity

Dr. Martin Mittelstadt, associate professor of New Testament at Evangel University, has an article titled “Academic and Pentecostal: An Appreciation of Roger Stronstad” published in the inaugural issue of Canadian Journal of Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity 1 (2010) 30-62.

According to Dr. Mittelstadt, the article is a celebration of the life and scholarship of Canadian scholar Roger Stronstad, whose work has shaped a whole generation of Pentecostal scholars, particularly via Charismatic Theology in St. Luke (published in 1984 and still in print).

This essay was first presented at New Voices, New Visions: Future and Hope of Pentecostal Theology for the Society for Pentecostal Studies at North Central University, Minneapolis, Minn., March 2010.

Mittelstadt is part of an editorial team for the CJPCC that seeks to bring greater awareness of Canadian Pentecostal history, theology and developments, not only for Canadian audiences but the larger academic community.

Mittelstadt has been a member of Evangel’s faculty since 2000. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Marquette University.

In addition to numerous articles, Mittelstadt has published two books, Spirit and Suffering in Luke-Acts: Implications for a Pentecostal Theology in 2004 and Reading Luke-Acts in the Pentecostal Tradition in 2010.
