AGTrust Announces Riggs Scholarship Recipients
The Assemblies of God Trust and The Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009-2010 AG Trust Scholarships. Under the leadership of General Superintendent George O. Wood and Assistant General Superintendent Alton Garrison, AGTrust seeks to strategically invest in our next generation of leaders. Therefore, this fund awards one male and one female high school senior the General Superintendent's Scholarship, worth up to $30,000 over a four year period. In addition, the eight semi-finalists are awarded the other Riggs Scholarships, worth $5,000 each.
Over 90 outstanding students made application for the inaugural year of these scholarships, and the ten winners were chosen based on categories including academics, extra-curricular involvement, Christian service, Christian life, financial need, personal essay and references. All applicants had to have at least a 3.5 GPA, be involved in an AG church and plan to attend an endorsed Assemblies of God college or university directly following high school.
